The feeling I have for our New "Brotherhood" of Apostates

i am sure i am speaking for all of us here when i say that i have never felt so much love and understanding as i do right now.

the wedding of prcapone and jesika, has really touched my heart.

two people who found each other with a common background.....two people who will go on with their lives free of the jw chains and can truly be happy.. i think of all the hard work the "sisters" put into making the wedding beautiful, the flowers, the rose petels, the dress, the cake, the little special touches.

I'm so new to this list and I'm not sure if it's okay to ask this..but here goes. Is there a place on this list to ask if there's a list of ex-jw's from Phx, Az? I can't be the only one from Phx. that's discovered that this so called religion is full of crap.

Since I was raised in Phx. since 6 yrs old and dragged into this cult at age 9 yrs old, a lot of people I went to school with and attended circuit ass'y with are there. I feel so alone here in Ga. and know no one here that's left this cult. Reading all your posts just makes me more lonely. If you can help me, I'd be so grateful...

Do you remember your last meeting?

last meeting i ever went to was a memorial, 6 years ago.

i remember it well, and it wasn't even my own hall.

it was so boring.

It was the memorial service for my dad. They never called them funeral services then. It was May of '89. He was an elder to the end. I remember crying and everyone looking at me with distaste. After all, my father had died "faithful" so why was I crying.

I never went back after that...just faded away...

Did you ever feel guilty when you went out in service?

i'm speaking not about yourself, but for the houeholder.

i would say for about the last 1.5 yrs before i left i didn't want to give a "good witness".

one because i didn't completly believe in it and two, i didn't want the householder to live the same misery i and most others were living.

I felt guilty because I barely tapped on the door hoping no one would hear me or had seen me walk up. I felt unworthy because of this.

Just think of all the lives I saved!!!! LOL

Miss You Mom

i miss you so much i just cant say how much i hurt inside.

i think back to when i was just a child and how you gave me the food from your plate when there wasnt enough for each of us to have dinner.

you always put me first, your joy in life came from seeing me happy, knowing i was safe and i had everything you could give me.. i miss doing my homework with you, the way you taught me to draw and how much confidence you always had in me and i still remember how you gave and gave until you had nothing more to give me.

Dear Donkey,

I'm new to this list but wanted to tell you how moved I was with your post about your mother. It's wonderful that you have such loving memories of your mother.

My mother and I were like oil and water. We loved each other, after a fashion, but never understood or liked each other much. I learned never to turn my back on her.

June 5th, she had a stroke. My daughter found her after I kept calling her and didn't get an answer. I still beat myself up for not leaving work and checking her when I first realized she hadn't answered her phone as usual. She can no longer speak and has lost use of her right side. My daughter and I have brought her to my daughters home to care for her.

I miss my mother too...our conversations..and I miss her stubborness (although I think that's what will help her now) and the guilt I feel for not being able to overcome our differences is sometimes so crushing.

I can relate for grieving for your mother, even though she's not gone physically...
